THE MOMENT THAT STARTED EVERYTHING

A few years ago, I read a news article that stopped me in my tracks.
It was about the growing number of children living below the poverty line in a major Canadian city.

I remember sitting there with the article open, feeling something tighten in my chest.
Not just sadness — but a realization that felt uncomfortably honest:

If we don’t give children the tools to shape their own futures, the cycle of poverty doesn’t break. It repeats.

For days afterward, that thought followed me everywhere.
It showed up while I was making coffee, walking, working — this quiet but persistent question:

“What do children truly need to break cycles that hold them back?”

And the answer kept coming back to one thing:

Education.
Empowerment.
A belief in their own potential.

Those three things can change the direction of a child’s life.
They changed mine.
And I realized I wanted to do something — even if small — to help children build brighter futures.

That’s when Building Brighter Tomorrows was born.

Not as a business idea.
Not as a marketing plan.
But as a commitment:

To give children stories that help them see courage in themselves…
curiosity as strength…
diversity as beauty…
and learning as power.

Stories can cross barriers that money and circumstance cannot.
Stories plant seeds of confidence, resilience, and imagination.
And when a child begins to believe in who they can become… everything changes.

So I started writing books.
Simple stories.
Kind stories.
Stories that teach, nurture, encourage, and empower.

And now I’m building this movement — slowly, honestly, one story at a time — hoping it reaches the children who need it most.

Because every child deserves a chance to rise.
Every child deserves to feel seen.
Every child deserves a future brighter than their circumstances.

And if a story can help spark that future… then that’s where I’ll start.
